Why I'm Running

This community is who I am – past, present, and future – and I am running for re-election to the State Assembly to continue my fight for the 68th district.

I share a similar story with many of you. I was raised in an East Harlem NYCHA development where my mother still lives. We grew up on welfare, but it was not enough to provide for us. I faced the criminal justice system without proper legal representation.

I’m a community organizer and activist in East Harlem with over 30 years of service in my community. I am running for re-election to the State Assembly because our community needs a strong comeback focused on equity, public safety, and justice. I am running for re-election because I believe no one will fight harder than me for New York’s 68th Assembly District.

Policy Priorities

We all feel that metro Atlanta is at a tipping point. The decisions we make today will define our city’s future. We need comprehensive and practical solutions that pave the way for our bright future - not just for some Atlantans, but for all.

My Priorities

The 68th Assembly District is at a crossroads. Gun violence is on the rise, rent is skyrocketing, people need jobs, but most unsettling, people are stuck in an endless struggle of suffering. I know this struggle very well because I’ve lived it.

I am running for re-election because no one will fight harder than me for New York’s 68th Assembly District.
